Prof. Jean Claude Mbanya
Prof. Jean Claude Mbanya, MD, PhD, MRCP (UK), FRCP (London), is a distinguished professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon. He serves as the Postgraduate Dean of the Doctoral School of Life, Health, and Environmental Sciences and is the Director of the National Obesity Centre at the Central Hospital in Yaoundé.Prof. Mbanya is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the World Academy of Sciences, and the African Academy of Sciences. He has received numerous awards, including the Harold Rifkin Award from the American Diabetes Association and the Philip Sherlock Award.
Prof Mbanya has published over 240 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is a leading figure in international diabetes advocacy, having played a key role in the passage of the United Nations Resolution on Diabetes and the UN Political Declaration on NCDs.
